A-Class Promo and 2010 Plans (southeast/Gulf Coast) - 08/31/09 01:31 PM

The Australian A-Class has produced a fantastic promotional video for the class you can check out at

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uacqj57HswM.

In the southeast and Gulf coast, there will be a lot of activity in 2010 starting in January with the Florida winter circuit regattas in Islamorada, St. Petersburg, and Bokeelia. The Gulf coast spring/summer circuit starting in April will include events in Fort Walton Beach, Lake Pontchartrain, Lake Buchanan, TX, and hopefully a return to the Galloway Regatta recently attended in Gulfport, MS where eight A-Cats competed as a one design class with the Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, Sunfish, and Optimist classes. The focal point of the season will be the class North American Championship at North Cape Yacht Club on Lake Erie in September.

Last year we had 21-26 boats racing at every winter/spring circuit event with our spring season finishing up with 42 boats racing in Fort Walton Beach for the North American Championship.

At 18 feet long, 150 square feet of sail area, and 165 lbs all up weight, it's about the most fun you can have on the water.
