I know it's early, but what's up on Friday? How about a distance race?

Steeplechase is the distance race.

Tradewinds is a bouy race.
3 days gives them flexability if weather is bad.

laugh I think it's more like running a marathon (not that I ever have or will). There is a sense of accomplishment in just finishing that dulls the pain.

pgp, I've run many marathons and trust me the pain is REAL.

Pete,

Hiram's in Oct.

Perfect opportunity to distance without pain.
You actually need to do a couple before people will take these posts seriously. grin

I'm on for Hiram's and I did Juana's. . . sort of. blush

What's the average finish time for Hiram's?

Re: tradewinds - 09/25/09 07:21 PM

What do you mean by "SORT OF" ?

You went around 129 to channel marker 131 didn't you? Didn't you go between the committee boat and the pin end?

If that's the case, YOU DID JUANA'S!

cool

Re: tradewinds - 09/25/09 07:32 PM

They probably should add a minimum finish time.

Re: tradewinds - 09/25/09 07:33 PM

NAH, they don't need to do that.

It's called Juana Goodtime for a reason. They want EVERYONE to finish! smile

What's it gonna take to get you to Tradewinds?

Re: tradewinds - 09/25/09 08:36 PM

That's a good question....

I guess whenever I want to take a week and a half of vacation to tour the Keys. smile

Nope, Have Andy double stack your boat to GC...leave it in FL and come back for Steeplechase...leave it again and come back for Tradewinds ... then have Andy double stack it back.

You fly back and forth and save lots of time!

You are soooooo funny...

I'm actually thinking about doing something similar to what you are saying....but a little different. smile

leave the boat, dude - 09/25/09 09:14 PM

I have done something similar to that quite a few times. Once with the I 20, twice with the Tiger and once with the F31!! It is well worth the sailing experience. Do it! Do it! Do it!

Whatever. It will be interesting to see the turn out for Friday. My guess is most folks will still be traveling.

It would be easier for the RC to do a Le Mans start/finish from the beach, and a twenty-five mile distance course in the bay a la the "Archipelago Raid".

The folks at Juana's seem to enjoy the distance one day, bouys the next, format.

In the end it's up to Rick and I'm game for whatever he decides.

We come a long way to do Steeplechase for a distance race and Tradewinds for buoys.. I think it's perfect that way.
