3rd annual Buzzelli Mutlihull Rendezvous/30th Stiletto Nat's

3rd Buzzelli Multihull Rendezvous with 30th Stiletto Nationals: October 16-18, 2009



The Sarasota Sailing Squadron is hosting the 3rd annual Buzzelli Multihull Rendezvous with the 30th Stiletto Nationals, which will take place at the Squadron in Sarasota, Florida on Oct. 16, 17 and 18.

It promises to be a Exciting few days on the Sarasota waters with a Fleet of FAST catamarans and trimarans competing!



We anticipate a front to bring some cooler air and fresh breeze just in time for the event.

This event is open to all Multihull sailboats and will be governed by the US Sailing rules. The 3-day racing event will start on Friday the 16th. The Friday long distance race is optional for all, except the Stiletto Nationals. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday at the end of the last race day. Courses will be on Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, weather dependent.



Bob Harkrider, current owner of Bob Buzzelli's big boat, "Merlin" Gulfstream 35, is graciously inviting all participants to come aboard Merlin for a beverage on Saturday after the races.

And how did you rate a position on Deuce Coupe? Man am I jealous! One of the problems with a Stiletto 27 and my distance from Sarasota is I would need 2 weeks to do that race... 1st day take boat apart pack it up to travel, 2 days travel, 1 day set back up sort out. Race/cruise (I don't race well) relax, then reverse. One day.........

I've known Peter and Chris since I was a kid, Bob's my uncle and I'm pretty good...Get there next year, it's worth it!

Quite an adventure so far...blowing like stink...some electrical activity on day 1, day two one S27 flipped, two lost there rigs. Check out this awesome picture from yesterday of Merlin, flying a hull in excellent form....

It was sad to see Merlin after the mast came down.

We got off easy with just a small tear in the jib.

You on "Deuce Coupe" are hereby commended for capsising in Saturday's race 1 and making the start of race 2. My compliments on your seamanshp!

Thanks Jack. It was pretty wooly out there. A stiletto 27 hull holds a lot of water.
