Re: Spring Fever NOR - 02/03/10 02:58 PM

Second day for pre-registration and there are 8 F18's on the board that is 40% of total pre-registration... suck it bit!@s

Re: Spring Fever NOR - 02/05/10 04:08 AM

Bump, Get registered early to help Nigel plan. Look at the F18's go!

Re: Spring Fever NOR - 02/05/10 04:12 AM

I'm trying to convince some New England boats to go down... i'm seriously considering it, especially if we can get a boat to double stack with and get more of our guys to go down.
Anything you guys can do to encourage / harass them feel free.

Re: Spring Fever NOR - 02/05/10 04:25 AM

How about no snow, lots of food and drink. I also think some F18's might get measured.

Ding can you set your spinnaker in the trees by where you set up as a caution sign so we know not to go that way?
Posted By: mikekrantz

Re: Spring Fever NOR - 02/05/10 02:33 PM

I'll bet a handle of rum, that the southern F18's open a can of whupass on the northern F18's. And just to clarify who's who - we'll score the top ten boats as north-south and use Lake Hartwell as the north-south designator...
Posted By: ThunderMuffin

Re: Spring Fever NOR - 02/05/10 02:35 PM

Well that doesn't count Mike since Dave is from North of Hartwell and you're from South of Hartwell. Either way you get to claim to be on the winning side :P

I could but you'd just ignore it and drive your boat into the trees anyway cause you be a punk!

Re: Spring Fever NOR - 02/05/10 02:56 PM

I've got the boat at my house, so it counts as a southern boat.

I'm doing the Admirals cup in Bokeelia the weekend before and it'll be too much back to back. There's a small possibility I'll do both but I doubt it.
Derek,
When are you gonna get on a spin boat? you can talk smack then. Also,it's about salt not clay.
Jake,
Why aren't you coming to the Admiral's cup? Lot's of competition. You Scared maybe?

Come on Todd, SF is just as much the party as the sailing. You know you don't want to miss the party! If your lucky, you'll get to see Jake sail across the lake in his pajamas with his beach wheels dragging behind the boat!

Tad, Where's my rum? Interest is gonna kill you.
I'm pretty sure Jake has NEVER beaten me on any of my boats, but we haven't faced off that many times either.'08 Tybee? If I'm wrong about this ,I'm sure he'll set me straight, and quickly.
If I did make it to SF that would be the main reason.

There is that. That was frickin' hilarious, especially when he told it.
Believe it or not I haven't had a beer or a mixed drink this year. Something is wrong with me.

Re: Spring Fever NOR - 02/05/10 06:38 PM

yeah, and I'm still sore for a rematch. The only time we've been on the water on the same boat was Spring Fever when Karl and I spanked you and Phillip (not your boat...so I'll guess we'll excuse it) and the last Tybee where you beat me by 4 minutes overall (or was it 6?)!

I was planning on doing Admiral's Cup but I didn't realize it was the weekend just before Spring Fever. If I end up having to choose one over the other (very likely), it's going to be Spring Fever - and that probably applies to several of the local a-cat guys too. We also have the Pee Dee Classic the weekend before Admiral's Cup in Hartsville, SC...a fun low key way to kick off the racing season.

C'mon Jake and Tawd, I'm doing both Admiral's Cup and Spring Fever. If you can sail 500 miles, surely you can drive it..

I tell you what... You do Admiral's cup and I'll do Spring Fever. I could even possibly hook you up with some floor space or a driveway for your RV in Bokeelia.

Karl,

I'm going to provide some advice that you should learn early...

My wife asked about Spring Fever and then GYC F16 Nationals the following weekend:

wife: "which one are you picking"
me: [responding quickly]: "I'm going to both"

No fuss, no muss. Kitchen pass for both events...AND...(Timbo read here) no quid pro quo!

Well, that wasn't Karl - that was me. And the limitation is of my own device due to the Kitchen remodel I had planned to be undertaking at that time. Lord knows Bonnie doesn't say much about me going to regattas - I do 18 to 20 every year.

Apologies to Jake...didn't read carefully that you'd had a remodelling job scheduled that precludes you from back-to-back regatta's.

Re: Spring Fever NOR - 02/06/10 12:34 AM

Terry, I figured out what I need to start doing. I'll tell her I'm going on a 6 day trip to Africa, dress up in my monkey suit, pack all my sailing stuff in my roll-aboard, and just go out the front door like normal.

Hopefully she won't notice the boat following me to work...

The remodeling just went backburner...the gauntlet thrown. Bokelia AND spring fever it is. Bonnie may have to cook out of the RV from the back driveway for a little longer than planned! grin
