In case your skiing has gotten boring here's a variation. Be sure to watch after 3:00 minutes. This is not normal behavior.

Can someone embed this for easy access?

Hi David,

This new sport was featured on 60 Minutes this year and was even repeated already. It started from Free fall junkies who developed the suits to inflate and provide lift so that they could get better glide ratios. They got "bored" with doing this where there was little reference to the glide path so they started jumping and gliding next to rock cliffs so that they could easily see their "flight" and even add a whole new level of danger and excitement.

There is also a YouTube video of a skier on VERY steep slopes on very high mountains using a modern parachute to ski/fly down runs that could not be done with skis alone. He takes a tumble at one point that looks like sure death but lucks out and gets stopped. I love to ski and have even been on some expert slopes like Jackson Hole but that is WAY BEYOND what I would do. I like being able to watch someone else, though. Extreme sports just keep getting extremer every day! Did you see the "Hurricane" on the Olympics? WOW!

Welcome to Norway (video shows the area I live in. Imagine what those mountains will do to your wind).

We invent stuff like this during the darkest part of winter, just to feel alive again.

I'm pretty sure there's a video somewhere of that same area and a dude auger's into the hill next to that curve in the road. No thanks. I've hit solid objects at some pretty good speeds, going that fast you're pretty much f'd.

There is another vidoe shot there with the same guys that was a better production. It was posted on the usaca.info site last year. I will try to find it and link it to this thread.

Where is the one video with the guy that straps small rockets to his legs, and 'flies' while the fuel lasts, then parachutes?

This is one cool video. They got some huevos grandes.
