Velocity Sailing needs your help! - 04/13/10 01:02 AM

We are in the process of making the final updates to our team website before the countdown going into the 2010 Tybee 500.

Take a look at our team bios here:

http://www.velocitysailing.com/?page_id=104

The only team member who has not submitted their bio is samc99us. This is where you can help us. Please help complete Sam's bio and we will publish it on our site.
Have fun and keep it clean. We promise Sam's feelings are not easily hurt.

Trey Brown – Greenville, South Carolina (TVS 1 Skipper) As one of the founding members of Team Velocity Sailing, Trey is undoubtedly the catalyst of the whole operation. If it weren’t for his drive and passion for sailing, Team Velocity would not be what it is today. He’s is the undisputed paragon of youthful enthusiasm and spirit – accepting and tackling any challenges before him. Trey has also managed to impress the movers and shakers in the catamaran sailing world through his meteoric rise in regatta standings. His communication and business skills have worked well for him and he has networked with some of the biggest names in international multihull sailing. His experience spans the globe, having competed at high-level events such as Rond-Texel, and the St. Thomas Rolex Regatta. Trey just bought his first home outside of Greenville South Carolina but he is usually on the road travelling for business, working for Advanced Technology Services.

Damn, I need my hip boots to wade through all that bullshiat. grin

While we're on the topic of our website- I added a bunch of content today - including some audio clips of Alan Friedman's radio station (http://www.buzzrocks.com) featuring SPECIAL ROCKSTAR GUEST Bailey White talking about Spring Fever and the upcoming Tybee 500.

Its short and sweet and will take all of 35 seconds of your time smile

And when you're looking to stream some hard rock music, listen to The Buzz online! The guy that runs the thing is probably one of the coolest catsailors you'll ever meet.

I hear Todd and Lee are doing a collaborative effort on Sam's bio and Kirk's got plenty to add from the crew's perspective.

Where do we send it, NAMBLA?
What's the deadline? Lee, myself and a long list of others don't want to miss out on this.
Great idea Derek.

A little something to help you boys figure me out:

Sam Carter-Raleigh, North Carolina (TVS 4 Skipper). Sam Carter is a junior at NC State University, majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Sam grew up sailing his H14 off Cove Point beach, on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Racing soon got the best of him, and he captained his local high school racing team for 3 years. During his sophomore year at NC State, Sam was captain of the NC State racing team, and with the help of his team, secured berths at dinghy champs both semesters. In addition to his extensive small boat experience, Sam was first mate and navigator aboard Age of Reason, a Bristol 35.5 that won her class two years in a row during the Governor's Cup of Maryland. Catamaran racing soon got under Sam's skin, and with the help of Kirk Spicer, the two bought a N20 and the fun began!

Sam is best known for his bouts with keyboard diarrhea and regurgitating quotes from his hero Trey. Many people want to choke him out when they meet him for the first time, but after getting to know him a few actually lose those feelings. Those few have yet to be found. The fact that he has a good sense of humor has kept him alive for his long illustrious life of 21 years. This may all come to a crashing halt when he does the Tybee and overthinks everything until his brain explodes OR he meets Lee Wicklund, calls him a stupid kiddie and talks down to him, whichever comes first. His latest accomplishment is becoming the new punching bag for multihull forums the world over.He has been asked to be buried at sea and very well may get his wish in the Tybee 500 this year, as Kirk becomes the first sailor to start as crew and finish single handed.

loose - the opposite of "tight"
lose - to misplace something.

I still can't believe we went to the same middle school.

Didn't know we went to the same middle school. I hated my middle school ,probably because of F**ksticks like you.
Thanks for the spellcheck though, you truly are one badass dud(spelled correctly). If you want to challenge me to distance racing or a spelling bee, I'm more than happy to take your arrogant butt on.

I think we found a winner!

Tad, any chance we can move this to the top of the bios? Looks like we have a replacement at the top of the totem pole (pending James' approval)

Blood from a turnip, my friend, and I fixed it for you.
Your full permission takes the fun right out of it, I must need a part 2.Maybe Lee can help out with that.

Re: Velocity Sailing needs your help! - 04/14/10 08:51 PM

You may want to add something about Sam and Kirk's proficiency in beer pong.
Posted By: Team_Cat_Fever

Re: Velocity Sailing needs your help! - 04/14/10 10:08 PM

Sam's barely old enough(isn't he?) to drink, how could he be proficient at it? He's probably just proficient at playing with balls.
Posted By: samc99us

Re: Velocity Sailing needs your help! - 04/15/10 12:33 AM

Yeah, I'm proficient at playing with balls, those that are in the B to C cup range and located on the upper torso.

And just fyi, the legal drinking age in my country of origin is 16...we like to start our beer pong tournaments at a young age. Lastly, and more importantly, age and beer have no correlation in college. Beer=party=girls. Simple.

You're at my alma mater.

There ain't no girls there. I lucked out and found one of the 10 there and married her.

Trey claimed one of the other ones. You're SOL now.

That would be Cove Point, Md ,right? They've got some crazy drinkin' laws, huh?

I'm not sure, but if you have balls on your upper torso,I think you just got teabagged.

Burn!!! I was wondering what your response on that would be.

FYI: I might be helping out Chuck on the Tybee. Just sorting out a schedule conflict. It might make it difficult to do Gumbo too but I will try.

If it means No Gumbo then tell Chuck to pound sand. No Gumbo is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!

You guys should have been there in the 80's. Talking about the lack of talent.. Why do you think they kept sheep in the pasture across from Western Blvd.

But having Meredith, Peace and St Mary's near by and some road trips to CH... It helped balance out the girl ratio.

Don't jump the gun. Trey's not married yet. Unless he's planning on pulling a Tad at the end of this year's Tybee?
