Catsailing in 3D

Catsailing in 3D - 05/16/10 10:12 PM

If your not planning on attending the Kelly Park River Regatta in 2 weeks, here's some extra motivation. I'm planning on having a new high definition 3D rig ready for the regatta, and will be filming the first ever catsailing in 3D during the event.

The videos will be available to view online shortly after the event at www.adventureonlinetv.com using anaglyph (red/blue) glasses which I hope to have in time to hand out. Otherwise, if you have a pair hanging out in a drawer somewhere try and find them. Also, the upcoming issue of Playboy will have a 3D centerfold, so tell your significant other you need to buy it for Adventure Online TV (were just here to help).

The regatta is always a blast, Lou is PRO once again, great barbacue Saturday night, and maybe even a band although its going to be hard to top last years entertainment (the band was good too).

And best of all, you can be part of Adventure Online's first ever 3D HD video!

If anyone is interested in stereoscopic versions for active or passive TV's, I will be making versions available at some point in the future.

Brian

Hey BK

You must have been way busy with this 3D thing to make it to the beach at Cocoa! We missed you and Chuck out there.

Maybe next time frown

Just the other day I was thinking how awesome 3D coverage of sailing would be.
What kind of camera are you using?

A Sony EX1 and EX3. The EX3 has the ability to sync to the EX1. Should be interesting trying to balance the rig on a boat!

The guys from Gopro are already testing a helmet-sized version which will be perfect for sailing.

As long as you can sync them, really any two camcorders will work. I was interested in an external trigger which they said they are considering. Some of the wildlife folks are attaching GoPros to animals, but they dont want to trigger them for a few hours until the animal is back in the wild. I think the same thing would be useful for sports. I wonder how they get the cam back off the animal, guess they must have a GPS and have to track them back down again.

They send "The Chuck" in to get the cameras back!

BTW, I just watched an episode of "Chuck", the first one I've ever seen. In it there was a double agent type bad guy, and his name was....

John Casey!

I kid you not.

Man, those Playboy articles in 3-D should be awesome....

Will I get dizzy and have seizures and nausea like the new 3-D televisions claim to cause? That would rock... just like JC sailing for real!
