New mystery cat challenge - 06/08/10 12:20 AM

I recently got this cat from a friend who had entirely too many projects.
I cannot figure out what it is,my belief is it's homemade. It's about 19ft in length and has very deep hulls. There are no dagger boards, only twin mini keels.
I need a trampoline for it and slosailandcanvas.com recommended I consult the experts here to help in identification. My Hobie14 tramp is too wide for it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I see....
It seems to fit the dimensions of the Nacra 5.7.
Does anyone know what the fore-aft length of the trampoline is?
I found the width, but not the length
thanks,

I agree, its not a Nacra. They have round beams and their boardless boats have all been boomless. Plus the rudders look wrong for a nacra. Maybe it is a Mystere 5.5, they made some with skegs and it looks like an M on the sail.

It is definitely NOT a Mystere.

I'm seeing a lot of Prindle parts, rudders, casting etc....

I vote Frankenboat

The rudders are definitely not original...the castings have the Prindle logo. Perhaps these are not the original sails as well. probably better off making up a name and ordering a custom tramp

Re: New mystery cat challenge - 06/09/10 05:19 AM

does look similar to a nacra 570

that craig's list matrix has no tramp, and google turns up other matrix 5.5 owners looking for tramps....sure the armish outfit or any decent sail shop could make up a couple of tramps to string together hobie style. with the center lacing they don't even need exact measurements

check your sail for any residual glue from an old matrix logo as on the craig's list boat

google also turned up a link between supercat and a "matrix marine inc" so might be worth a question on the supercat forum
