Nacra kickup stop replacement?

Anyone have a better alternative to the Nacra 5.5 Uni rudder kick-up stop? Basically, the clear rubber hose thing?

Especially something that can be changed without requiring a total disassembly of the bungee system.

... why not take a piece of hose, cut it so it slips over the bungee & then tape it up with some good rigging tape?
Or, what about mounting some kind of small rubber piece on the backside of the rudder blade, exactly where it would hit the aluminum tube, as a kind of shock absorber?

Suggestions appreciated Jim. I had not considered a bumper on the blade or the aluminum tube,

Will let you know if I discover another option.
