Anyone with a Dart 18 know the distance between the center point of the holes for the tiller arm pins on the rudder crossbar? Trying to make a new one.
Thanks

Print DR 250 only states "1950 Max" cross barlength of rod and holes to fit DR 237 pins "to fit assembly". Mine measures bar at 72 5/8 inches with hole centers at 69 5/8 inches.
To firm and minor adjust Stu made two 1.75" long wood dowel inserts with through holes for the pins and slides the dowels inside the cross bar ends and uses a screw to make the dowles firm. Reduces play and wear.

Had a wander around the boat park today, there is usually at least one slacker on a Dart 18 that can't be bothered to take his rudders off. But, wouldn't you know it, no rudders to be seen!
no use - sorry!

Are the backing plates and hardware for the chainplates and bridle attachment points glassed in place from the inside.
I am wondering since I am planning on refinishing the hulls and would like to remove these fittings unless they will be difficult to replace.

If I remember right, the baking of chainplates on bridle attachment are not glassed. I had serial number 6913.

Is there anything holding the backing plate and hardware in place, like epoxy? There are no inspection port access, so I dont want to have any hardware dislodge when I remove them.

DO NOT undo any of the fittings unless you are planning to take the decks of the boat off too. They are NOT epoxied in.

That's what I thought. Just wanted to confirm. Thanks.
