We are getting your response in, thank you for your interest. Some thoughts: We have had a request to continue the series into Feb and March, Specifically, the weekend just after Valentines Day (11-13 Feb), and the weekend in the middle of March (11-13 Mar.)which we would call the Ides of March, if run. We are responding to your request with the Islander Resort back up. Hotel Rates in the Feb - March may change but we will work with the Resort to get the best. Right now they are supporting our efforts and have agreed to place Race trophys in the breakfast lobby and are building a shelf to show more. Some have suggested to open the series to monohull one design Class boats. We will take this into consideration, but they have to come forward with ideas.
We are also looking to change the date for the Islander Reef Run (Islamorada to Key West) from Late April to April 2nd. This is not firm, but would like to have your ideas. Our races are for Sailors and their families with no intention of making money. We do have expenses whether you show or not. We are fortunate to have cooperation from the resort with the best boat race days setup in the Keys.
