Infusion Dagger questions - 09/13/10 04:30 AM

I recently aqcuired an Infusion and noticed that the bottom of the dagger wells has been bogged so as not to allow the board to gybe. Are the boats faster this way? Also I am curious if any knows if there is another boat out there that shares the same dagger board profile. I need two boards but can only find 800 dollar a piece boards in the after market and alot of people say that Nacra brand boards are usually damaged in shipping.

The consensus is that gybing boards worked well in some conditions, but not others. The Infusions built in the last few years all have the boards fixed (not gybing). According to many racers, the added clearance in the trunk also placed additional wear on the trailing edge, causing chipping of the boards. Most everyone I know has now bogged the trunks up so that they do not twist in the trunk. (Nacra may confirm this if you ask them.)

$800/ea is quite steep IMHO. 500 or so a piece seems more like it. Try New England Catamarans. Rick may give you a better price.
