Reminder - the Golden Anchor Program for discounted US Sailing membership has been up graded (see below). Let's have a nice showdown this fall at "Sailor Friendly" FWYC. Air out those "A" Class missiles, Formula 16s, Formula 18s, and NACRA 20s. Now read this...
New! US SAILING Program Saves Money for One-Design Sailors

US SAILING’s Member Partner Program is a win-win for your class. Class members can save up to 20% on their US SAILING membership. At the same time, they will earn valuable credits for the class association that can be used to purchase US SAILING products and services, such as the Racing Rules of Sailing, registration for the One-Design Sailing Symposium, educational DVD’s and much more.

The new web-based program streamlines the membership process, allowing your members to easily join or renew online, receive immediate membership confirmation, access all member benefits, and expedite the mailing of their membership materials. Also, your members will be able to join at any time during the year. In addition, the online system will relieve you of the administrative tasks associated with the old Golden Anchor Program. No more collecting member data, compiling lists and mailing payments. Your class members will access the Member Partner Program website directly and with a few clicks, join or renew their US SAILING membership.

MEMBER PARTNER PROGRAM MEMBERSHIP RATES

Youth $20.00 (standard cost $25.00) $5 savings
Individual $50.00 (standard cost $60.00) $10 savings
Family $75.00 (standard cost $90.00) $15 savings

In addition to membership savings, all Member Partner Program members will receive the same benefits as our standard memberships, which include

• The Racing Rules of Sailing
• Accident Insurance from the Gowrie Group
• Discounted regatta entry fees
• Discounts on apparel and publications
• As well as member-only promotions from our sponsorship partners.

All member benefits can be viewed at http://membership.ussailing.org/sailors.htm.

Save money for your members and earn credits for the class association. It costs nothing to participate in the program. To set up the program for your class, contact program manager Kate Daley (katedaley@ussailing.org, 401-683-0800 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 401-683-0800 end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 401-683-0800 end_of_the_skype_highlighting x685).

Member Partner Program website: http://membership.ussailing.org/Partner_Program.htm

Thank you again for supporting US SAILING. We look forward to your participation in the Member Partner Program and your help with growing the sport of sailing.

What if Randy, Robbie, and Nigel were racing Viper 16s? Anyone else out there willing to go game on?

Back in the day, this qualifier was as tough as the Nationals:-) How about one start for forty + boats?

Robbie will not be there, he's committed elsewhere. Nigel is Area D North and will qualify there but is welcome to sail if he wishes. Don't know about Randy but would to love to see him there on a beach cat.

Rumor has it there is a strong F16 fleet planning on attending this one. I don't know which ride Taylor and Matt will be on but they are planing on attending. Olli Jason is coming. There is also an unconfirmed rumor Alex Shafer will be there on an F18. So regardless if we have the numbers or not it will be a talent rich event. For all those that campaign for a one fleet one start regatta, this is it, time to put up or shut up.

Midget boats will always be midget boats

Even a 'midget' boat in the right hands is better than a maxi in the wrong hands.

You guys should have been on the starting line for the Galveston Bay Championships in circa 1977 or '78 off Texas City Dike. What a Hoot! 70 + boats (one start) - first Gulf Coast regional showdown between the Prindle 19, NACRA 5.2, and Hobie 18. Johnny Maudlin was PRO. Cauldwell's P - 19, from Texas, won the event overall (on a tie breaker if I remember) as a result of a rating adjustment to the NACRA 5.2 during the series.

How many of ya'll remember Dick Blanchard and NAMSA?

How about having another "Portsmouth Championships" for catamarans like we used to do in the background of US Sailing, but have the US Sailing Portsmouth Comm and the Championship Comm support the idea for consideration?

The Perpetual Trophy would be in honor of Darline Hobock. Kirt Simmons presented this proposal during the MHC in Phoenix, and Carl Reigart acted in favor of looking into the possibility of such an event.

Reminder: US Sailing membership is required for the skipper and crew for this regatta. If your membership is not current please renew it here US Sailing Membership Online Renewal . Make sure you select Multihill Council Golden Anchor as your Yacht Club so you are counted and tracked as a multihull sailor.
