Our club acquired a Dart 16 awhile ago and it came with wings. I can't find any documentation on the web for these. I don't think they're meant to be trapezed off of because of the nice rolly foam piece over the tube. They don't look comfortable to sit on. They look like they're to lean back against. I just noticed today that they have two different positions that they can be set at. The outboard setting looks too far out to work well for leaning against, but it was raining today so I didn't actually try it.
Anybody see actual documentation as to what these were intended for?
Thanks

I was Irish agent for the Dart 16 and sold nearly 40 of them. I never heard of wings being fitted in Ireland or the UK.

My guess is that the D16 Wings are for paraplegic sailors ... very similiar to the set-up that is avialible for the H16. The D16 wings do not appear to increase the leverage/width of the boat to counter-balance the healing forces ....
Also I could see how they could be very helpful to a sailing program for beginner/novice sailors and of course a paraplegic sailor.

I can't find any reference to them anywhere. It is unlikely that they are from Laser Performance in the UK. They look professionally made - most likely in the US.
