Some silly scared Cannucks such as Chris & Pat Prentice, Mike Carson, Olivier Pilon.
Then you have the super nice Canadians from Toronto, where are all of you?!? Nate & Lisa, Moyra, Dan, etc.
And how about the Europeans? Gunnar, Mischa, and Macca? and yes Macca I'm grouping you in with the Euros!
Let's see who else am I missing... the Texans! Tomko, Laura & Luke, Chris Green, Aaron, and so on.
Not too many West Coasters either... where's Dan Delave, Jdubbs, Greg & Jacques, and the Glasers?

Team 5150 is committed.

The auction sails will they have advertising or any other logos, or just the standard Glaser patches? What colors are available?

Only an hour left to enter and bid on the sails! The sails will only have a Glaser patch on them... maybe a DP sticker but not sure, it won't be a big one. I'll check on that.
I also believe that there is the option to have full colored sails even with multiple colors in one pattern... like the picture. [Linked Image]
I will check on this and the put the details here as soon as I know.
Still missing a lot of people!!!

Re: F18 North Americans... Register by 5/31 or miss out!!! - 06/01/11 05:30 PM

From the 2011 North American Formula 18 Championship event:

Thank You for registering for the 2011 F18 North Americans. You are now eligiable to bid in a silent auction for new sails made by Glaser Sails using Dimension-Polyant Cloth. Here's the info on the sails and how to bid on them:
The cloth is PE05 3.0 mil for both the main and the jib. The spinnaker will be in Formulon 75 (F75). Both styles are used in F18 sails by leading sailmakers around the world.
DIMENSION-POLYANT will make a few color options available. The color will be Random Color Pattern (similar to Ken Madsen's sails at MadCatter see photo attached). DP will offer 2-3 color schemes - the likely colors are Tangerine (Red & Yellow), Green (Blue & Yellow), Purple (Red and Blue). All these are developed by the windsurf brands and the colors are really cool (see color samples attached).
We intent to put DP stickers on the sails, but will be flexible to accommodate the regatta sponsors logo too.
We are silent auctioning off two items:
Main/Jib Combo
Spinnaker
To bid, please send an email to with your bid for one or both items. If you are bidding on both items please itemize your bid (i.e. Main/Jib Combo = $1,000,000 | Spinnaker = $2,000)
The bidding period will close Friday, June 17th at Midnight EDT. Payment is due within 5 days. The winner of the auction will be contacted soon after to place their order for the sails. The sails will be made available for delivery by the end of July so the sails can be used prior to the Nationals in September. DIMENSION-POLYANT would like sails to be used at North Americans.
Please contact help@f18northamericans.com if you have any questions.
Happy Bidding!

Re: F18 North Americans... Register by 5/31 or miss out!!! - 06/03/11 08:29 PM

It's a silent auction, the idea is nobody knows the bidding.

Re: F18 North Americans... Register by 5/31 or miss out!!! - 06/03/11 08:37 PM

Funny I always thought a silent auction had a piece of paper and you wrote down a bid higher than the one in front of you.

So it's more of a blind Bid than a Silent Auction.

I made an assumption is was blind, it may be as you describe.
