Computer Problem - 09/16/02 04:28 PM

I just bought a new laptop. I can get into the old forum with no problem; however, when I try to get into the new forum, or any other forum, I get a message that reads: Failed opening '/home/catsail/catsailor/forums/languages/deleted/generic.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/php/includes:/usr/share/php') in /home/catsail/catsailor/forums/ubbt.inc.php on line 98.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Bob B.

Try this! - 09/16/02 05:26 PM

We are pretty sure it has to do with firewall software and there is a way to set it so this won't happen. Mainly, you need to set it so you

"accept cookies."

Try looking in your "options" for something like that. If that fails, get back to us by emailing me at rick@catsailor.com with all your info: Operating System, Browser and version of it, any other recent software installations.

Thanks,

Rick

uhh thats a server side compile issue.

that doesn't have anything to do with you... that means that whatever user that the php daemon is being run under doesn't have access to the generic.php file. Or its not set to execute.

My OS is MS Windows XP. Glad to see it's not my system (already had one huge problem with it).

It was noted previously that it might be a compile problem. This may be the case, but it must have something to do with your particular configuration. If it was a compile problem, then no one would be able to access these pages and post.

<br>Do you have a firewall installed or as rick suggested, is your browser set to accept cookies? If cookies are not enabled, then the forum software may have problems working with your browser.

Re: Computer Problem - 09/19/02 04:59 PM

Its not so much a compile problem as a filesystem problem.

There is nothing in that error message that he posted that reflects a browser issue. In fact, that error is a message spit out by PHP itself. You can pretty much guarantee its a server issue if it references a line of code, in this case, it does; in addition to the local directory structure of the server.
