Spring Fever

Spring Fever - 02/28/13 04:59 PM

Come join everyone at Spring Fever hosted by Nigel Pitt and Mr Ernie. It is dirt cheap for three days of racing and all the food and drink that comes with it as well as free coaching by Robbie Daniels on starts with additional coaching offered earlier in the week as well. And if you can't make Friday racing, you get average points for the other two days and can still win overall. It is also a great time to reconnect with people and have a lot of fun relaxing. Who is coming?

That's great, Jeff. Go ahead and register as soon as you can if you haven't already. The cost pretty much doubles after March 5th.

Nothing on the registration page mentions fees doubling... what am I missing?

Re: Spring Fever - 02/28/13 06:11 PM

Hello to all

This is the last request/reminder from all of us at us at Spring Fever.
I have come to grips with the decline in catamaran Regattas over the
years and Spring Fever has always been a boost early in the season. At
forty plus registered I would like to change the format of the social
events, but not knowing the final tally it is hard for us to move
forward in a new direction.

We have asked you time after time to preregister to enable us to
purchase shirts and arrange the quantity of food for the three day
Regatta, not to mention the adult beverages. So I'm putting a dead line
on those of you that have not taken the time to preregister as of yet.
As of March 5th those of you turning up not preregistered will not only
forfeit their Regatta shirts but will be having to make a one hundred
dollar donation to our local Hospice before you will be able to Register.

Its pretty simple, we need a time period knowing how many of you to
cater to. Allow us to keep this Regatta as organized as possible for you
the sailors and preregister by March 5th at:
http://www.twinhulls.com/springfever2013/13prereg/

Many of you know how very difficult it is to get great sponsors but to
keep them for sixteen or more years with declining participation gets
tougher every year especially when everybody is also cutting back on
advertising spending. If we should loose our two major sponsors that
would certainly put an end to this great regatta.

Please preregister now.

.....Nigel & Mr.Ernie

Where is that posted? Is there an NOR?
Posted By: bacho

Re: Spring Fever - 02/28/13 06:17 PM

I got it in an e-mail.
Posted By: Jeff.Dusek

Re: Spring Fever - 02/28/13 06:22 PM

Who was the email sent to? Without a published pre-reg deadline a $100 penalty is pretty harsh.

Re: Spring Fever - 02/28/13 06:26 PM

Ping Mr. Ernie and ask to be added to the email list.

Re: Spring Fever - 02/28/13 06:42 PM

I think they're a little surprised with the lack of pre-registrations and are trying to avoid catastrophe. You are correct though, it needs to be publicized thoroughly.

Re: Spring Fever - 02/28/13 09:18 PM

wait... I'm confused...

Option 1) pre-register before the deadline and screw the dying folk at Hospice

Option 2) late register and forfeit all your goodies but help Hospice

(*** having just spent a good amount of time at Hospice with a relative, this is meant at humor, not to degrade a fine organization)

That won't bode well for future participation.

Stop hatin Todd, I'm sure they will get it sorted.

Look all your buddies will be there... hmmm... A-cat or F18, what to do what to do. I think both fleets scare the piss out of you.

He's apparently coming down with Grumpy Old Man (GOM) syndrome...

snow and grey skies for 8 months a year tend to do that to a person....

Me too but you can't let it harsh your good time. Besides if Todd was a ray of sunshine he'd be far less interesting don't you think? Hell look at Bogger for example, now that he's getting serviced on a regular basis he is down right, dare I say it... normal... *yawn*.

Very true! and, yeah, now that you mention it, Karl2 isn't nearly as angry as he used to be.

I bet I have seen Karl more angry than anyone else. Twice.

Settle down Buttercup, you've never seen me really angry.

I'd like to thank my medication, and hitting the lottery on not getting an STD and/or knocking anything up in the past two years.

It's simple. I won't know about work until the last minute and if that's going to cost me another $100.00 then it's not worth it to me.

Re: Spring Fever - 03/02/13 12:44 PM

You can still pre-register and send in a email about a work conflict. They are not asking for payment until you show up. Then you would be covered.

Might have found a ride, looking into travel options. Is ATL the easiest airport to fly into? Anyone doing the ATL-Hartwell drive on Thursday morning or Sunday evening?

ATL or GSP (Greenville, SC). They're about equidistant...However, although Greenville is much easier to get in and out of on the ground, it's usually more expensive to fly into Greenville and typically involves another layover. I can probably help you with a trip back to Greenville Sunday but I'm heading out to Hartwell earlier in the week.

Re: Spring Fever - 03/18/13 02:22 PM

If you go through GSP I can get you down there Thursday afternoon-evening.

Re: Spring Fever - 03/18/13 04:09 PM

Changing the culture to preregister is way overdue. While a $100 whack is pretty steep, the cause is good. Hopefully this won't keep people away.

Really need a formal NOR next year.
