Where can I race my G32 Catamaran in Florida?

Where can I race my G32 Catamaran in Florida? - 12/01/13 05:01 PM

I have figured out a way to work remotely during the winter months, and I want to take my G32 catamaran to Florida and race in a handicap fleet. Is Punta Gorda a good place to go? I would likely return to the great lakes during the summer.

Sarasota Sailing Squadron has a large fleet of Stiletto's ... that might be an option.

Punta Gorda is the place to be. The Punta Gorda Sailing Club's Holiday Regatta is this weekend and the spring Series starts soon. It is a small but competitive multihull fleet.

The Cherry Pie Multihull regatta is going on at the SSS on Feb 8-10. Mixed fleet of corsairs and larger cats.

pick a spot in the central-ish area of FL (Punta Gorda is probably good in that respect) and you could then drive to pretty much any area in a few hours for the various regattas held in every nook and cranny (including inland lakes) of FL.

Does the 32 meet PHRF specs, or would you prefer a DPN like the Roberts designs (larger cats w/out shelter)?

The Farriers and Corsairs are sailing PHRF.

So, in order to find a happy place to sail, please consider which handicap system you are most eligible for.

I serve on a national rating committee, and we would be able to serve you. Please send me a private mail, and we will discuss the rating scenario in a bit more detail.

Bert,

How does one go about getting a PHRF certificate? Do I contact the local regatta committee, or will one from a national source work?

In my particular case, it's a stock F-24m2 but didn't come with any PHRF cert (just a sailplan cert)

For the content you describe, I'm not quite sure, but the question we should be able to query through the network, I think so you can get more possible answers. Also, I really like the atmosphere in this forum that we can exchange views freely . Here you can hope to get more help, and can help more people. I hope we can be good friends.sharing a good site to buy Fifa 14 coins .that is http://www.fifa14coinsale.co.uk/

Jay,

I am on the Gulf Yachting Association Multihull Rating Committee, and we began working with Trey Ritter in 1995. We use the most up to date ratings for trimarans. Our application is available on www.gya.org under the Racing > multihulls region.

We also have a national consortium for handicapping new or one - offs. A member from BAMA (Steve Green), Trey Ritter (from GLMRA), Dave Calvert, and two of us on the GYA Comm serve as the team. We just provided SSS with a rating for Mike McGarry's 18' hydrosail which he brought to the Buzzelli Regatta.

The current rating for your C 24 is 84 PHRF.

If you have time send me your e address, and I will send you an application.
