Endurance Series Discontinued for 2016 - 03/01/16 06:18 AM
Last year completed the 12th year the Endurance Series. Unfortunately the Endurance Series is suspended for 2016 but expected to be back stronger in 2017. Trophies will still be issued for last years winners.
At the end of last year the Endurance Series became a part of Sail Series Promotions (SSP) which would have helped to consolidate efforts but unfortunately politics has reversed those efforts. As a result of that and other changes in SSP, I resigned from the board of SSP and substantially reduced my involvement in the Florida 300.
As with any major project, there is a lot of politics involved at every level and when the amount of time spent with politics supersedes the amount of time working on the project, it quits making sense.
It was not an easy decision. I initially resigned from Sail Series Promotions in December with intent to still provide support for the Florida 300 through the Endurance Series but as everything has played out, I can't support the race to the extent it needs to be supported with all of the latest changes. I wish Sail Series Promotions and the Florida 300 much luck.
