That's Lake Norman Yacht Club (I've sailed out of there a lot). I don't know of a Wildcat up there but I haven't been up there in a while. Only an hour left.

Didn't the wildcat not do so well as an F18?

It never achieved the numbers of the other builders but in my opinion it wasn't because it is a slow boat. When the Wildcat came out it was significantly more expensive than any of the other offerings. This gave AHPC and NACRA the window they needed to flood the market with good boats and a lower price.

The only F18 I consider a total miss is the Nacra F18, it was hard to sail and not a lot of fun and it's only strength was drifting conditions and who likes to sail in that!?

The Wildcat is a good boat it's just a little less stupid friendly than the C2, Infusion, Falcon... In my opinion.

I agree the NACRA F18 was a dog, but I will say it did pretty well when it was really honking... I had no trouble running down the Tigers in these conditions and from what I was told this is where the Tiger was suppose to shine...

In the end another candidate for the DBS club

That language/photo experience is pretty common on all Charity, Government, Insurance, Military and other surplus property auctions. You take a bigger risk, but expect a lower price.

Dang Lake Norman YC is really hating the cats these days, sounds like someone hasn't made their quarterly dues and the club is selling it, but I may be wrong. Im sure the owner didn't just put his boat down on the gravel like that.

The wildcat can be a competitive boat, but is arguably the hardest boat to sail of the current generation boats. It requires the most attention from the helm and rewards those that practice a ton. It also suffers in the U.S from a lack of competitive sailors on the platform, so their are little common tuning numbers (namely mast rake) for folks to go off. In lighter air and flat water it shines, and it can do well in other conditions but wouldn't be my choice for a ride in breeze.

No - it was part of an estate sale / donation to charity.
