Anyone else sailing with his pussy?

MinMin had to take over after Chloe the brave little dog went to Heaven.

Not much ballast but she's been good crew during 6 months on the road, sailing around the islands and lakes of Queensland Australia.

See it here - Catamaran Cat: Catamaran Cat:

The sequel to Catamaran Dogamaran: Catamaran Dogamaran

And more videos on Youtube.

Nice camera work on both the cat and dog on a cat videos! Condolences on the loss of your dog, the cat looks beautiful, but will it play fetch?

I was out today on my Prindle 18 with my 'best friend', a 9yr old Blue Healer (Australian cattle dog) who loves sailing, but he's no help when the wind is blowing, he's always on the low side with his head overboard, snapping at the white caps as the waves go by!

He's fallen over board many times when a quick puff will lift the hull up too high and he slides right off, but he's a great swimmer, so I just have to head up and park for a minute until he swims up along side the boat and I pull him back on. I have a picture of him on board, but it's too big to post here.

How did you train the cat to sail? or is it one which just got on board without any sort of encouragement?

Will it wear a harness? Seems like the poor thing would be hanging by the neck if something happened (flip, slip, etc)...

Looks like an ideal place to sail with pets...

Speaking of pets: I got a mini-drone (palm sized) and launched it before reading the directions that cautioned me about drones and pets. Of course, my lazy mooch-pooch decided this drone must perish with extreme prejudice and practically killed himself trying to catch it. All ended well with no damage to either...

Rats have been sailing on boats since the beginning of sailing. How did they control those rats in the days-of-yore?

They were a source of protein in the gruel! Seriously, here is a quote from this source: "Many accounts from Royal Navy sailors 1760-1815 note that to enjoy fresh meat aboard ship for a change - perhaps during a year at sea - catching rats and feeding them pieces of ships’ biscuit to fatten them up for eating was a well-known practice aboard larger ships."
