Always interested in the Texel Week racing, could you give some commentary on the videos for those that don't speak Dutch?

With the America's Cup in progress we need some local info from Texel.

Okay Damon,

First I detected that my video links in the first post were not working anymore because of certificate problems of the site. (seems that since windows-10 update, Adobe is more severe).

On the official Texel site they removed the above mentioned links also. In their media tab there is no connection to vids anymore. Plus there is no english version of their site .

I wanted to give you here the direct link to vimeo for the vids of the so-called global challenge week (because the round exist now 40 years), but they seem to be impossible too.

So, may I say buttocks! As soon as I can show vids, I come back to you

P.S. If you click in the official Round Texel site 2017 on the the two photo's around the text: "Fantastische 1e Pinksterdag", you can still reach that Vimeo vids! (day1 and day2).

But at least coming three days video making is cancelled because of storms in Holland.
In fact for the Round itself coming weekend, the forecast is doubtfull !

Northsea,

Can you see this embedded video? It's possible it works in the USA and not in The Netherlands.

Looks like a bunch of videos by Videolux Productions on the Global Challenge here. https://vimeo.com/videoluxproductions/videos/sort:date/format:detail

Can't understand the words, but this is the latest video and the title sounds like these are the winners?

Yes Damon, you're right.

After two sailing days this global challenge cup is ended by the worsening circumstances.
At this moment the waveheight is 4.5 meter.
Winners are indeed a father and son who have never sailed at sea, only on small inside lakes!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blaming all the salt sea sailors.

With regard to the Round of the Isle itself it seems that saterday maybe possible, but the wave height remains a critical factor. Hope that this Vimeo channel will keep showing vids

I got to the island last night but it is still really windy (30-40+ knots!).
Hopefully we can get a few hours on the water on Friday.
Conditions for Saturday are actually looking quite decent, 13-16 knots.
Not much you can do about it unfortunately.

Racing postponed all day due to strong winds and waves till 16:00, then they started one race with only 5 boats since conditions where still very rough.
One of the F18s broke their mast coming back to the beach unfortunately.

Tomorrow should be much better with 5 races planned.

Morning Tony, its raining like cats and dogs at this moment.
Can you still shoot some raw footage for this forum these two days?

We only have the very slow moving beachcam:

And the wrong pointed fixed HD : https://www.webcams-texel.nl/pages/cameras/paal17.php

Did you bring your drone with you?

Have a good race

Ofcourse three men on a foiling M20 have won the line honours, despite the extra weight.

Circumstances were perfect for everybody.

I'm looking at the HAD cam from timezone UTC -6 and it's like watching the future seeing a beautiful Sunday morning beach scene on Saturday night.
