Can anyone tell me anything about Rough Riders. Is it still called Rough Riders? Still on Labor Day Weekend? Any suggestions on preparation for it? Is there is a website or NOR?

Hey Trey!
What kind of distance is RR? I amthinking about coing down for the race but didnt find a description of the race on the site. I could tell from the site that it was a 2 day race but didnt get a good sense of how the race is run. I assume you sail from one spot to another then back to the launch? Road crew?

www.ruffrider.net . Rumor is that it will be going all the way to Corpus again. I've done it a few times around the island but not when it went up to Corpus. Looking forward to it.

I've done it many times to CC, around the island, and out from the flats and back again.
Depending on recent storms, the water is usually pristine offshore, waves aren't bad, etc. There are no waves or beaches going from SP to CC. I think my first few RRregattas, there were 140+ boats going from SP to CC. Gots lots of trophies in a box somewhere from that Regatta.
NOw if they did it from SP to CC offshore, 1 day, kinda like dcay 1 of GT300, now that'd be cool. THAT would be a Rough Rider. But I can see why they don't want to do that for RR Regatta.
Go for it, lots of friendly people, etc.
