Finished my tramp for the old 5.2 - 08/07/04 05:13 AM
Just finished my tramp. I wanted to thank those that made suggestions and provided tips. I REALLY like the jib wires UNDER the tramp. Thought about removing the bar, but decided to keep it. First sail was on Sunday, steady 15mph winds from the north. Seems like a different boat since I didn't have to navigate around the wires anymore! I also installed hiking straps that I didn't have before.
I reinforced the cut out areas, for the jib wires, with the same "seat belt" nylon that the hiking straps are made from. (The underneath is same as the top.)
Did not go with pockets on the tramp. I made a removeable "tube" of sunbrella with a zipper on each side. Makes for good storage for halyards and water bottles. I wanted the tramp to be as uncluttered as possible.
The tramp material and 2" nylon strap is available from www.sailrite.com
Thanks again for this forum!
