I guess it beats paddling out.

What kind of boat is it (was it)? The hulls are canted, but maybe that is just because of the contraption they have on top of it. Where was the picture taken?

Its Wind Thang version 1.

That's what I was thinking.

The hulls are from a Sol Cat 18. First sloop boat I ever trapezed from back in 1977!

Thanks for the answer, Bob. Sol Cat was my first guess, but I haven't seen many up close and personal.

The hulls look like Hobie 18's to me, with the inboard deck raised at the beams to accept an arched/curved beam, that's probably why the hulls are now canted. Also the deck has a definite rise going toward the bow, and the bows are not plumb.
The Sol 18 deck was level along its length, had a relatively plumb bow, and the bow was not as deep as the hulls in the photo.
When the Sol first came out it was the "cat's meow", pre Nacra 5.2.

Maybe its just cause i'm in a slightly different age group than most of you, but I think we might be missing the most important aspects of this picture. Where was it taken, cause those girls are CUTE, and dang it, since there is no way your gonna trap on that anymore that is the most import thing ;-)

Photo was taken in St. Maarten. Didn't even know they had enough surf to worry about there!

Okay, Rick says it is definitely a Hobie 18, no question.

agreed - Hobie 18...remember that the Hobie 18 beams are curved upward hence the canted hulls in that picture are a result of the curved beam socket bolted directly to a flat piece of wood.
