Looking for a used Canoe

Do any of you know a good used canoe source, like Catsailor or Beach Cats, but for canoes. Maybe you have one in your backyard.

You can buy a new roto molded one for less than 350$ at a sporting goods store. Not too much more money. They are always in the newspaper classifieds around here.

What about making a Kayak yourself? Have a willow tree in the yard- or a friends? This link (OOPS I don't know how to insert a link) http://www.shelter-systems.com/kayak.html shows the site- they sell fasteners that are not cheap- but Home Depot sells tarp fastners for $1 each- it's ugly but very light and can me made with branches and a tarp.
