Where to stay in Beaufort, SC?

Where to stay in Beaufort, SC? - 04/03/06 03:55 PM

I am going down to Beaufort, SC, next weekend for a US Sailing Level 1 class, and need to find a place to stay. Anyone on here familiar with the area? I have a tent and a sleeping bag, so camping is fine with me (and fits the college budget much better than hotel rooms!). I'll be there from Friday night through Tuesday. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Try posting or searching over on RV.net, you will get lots of info on camping.

Trey, hands down the best place to stay is Hunting Island State Park. Camp Right on the ocean for around 25$, beautiful unspoiled beaches, a little out of Beaufort, but not too far for the beauty of the place. The SEACATS travel every year as a group in shrimping season, but no sailing off the beach, save that for Sullivans Island or Folly Beach in Charleston.
Google it for the skinny
