Didn't this guy decide NOT to sail around the world when he realised that he wouldn't live the 150 years that it would take him to make the trip in THAT "boat"?
Everything I've read leads me to believe that he remains intent on going. He added the sponsor graphics to the hull in the last week or so.
Except that if you visit those 'sponsors' there is no mention of Kristopher Harlsen and Sea Biscuit. The only site that has anything much on 'Harley' is the self-publicity on the microcruising forum. I also find it hard to believe that after the way 'Harley' was crowing about practically destroying the Captain Humphreys project, they'd have anything to do with him?
He was supposed to depart in June, yet here we are, late July, and not a peep about a departure date. The man seems to be solely a self publicist who craves attention. He knows that come D day, when he fails in his attempt, he won't be news anymore.
It'd be wonderful to think that a pioneering spirit like his could actually go and achieve a circumnavigation in such a small, homebuilt 'boat', but if you read his blogs and interview and forum comments it becomes clear that he really isn't up to this endeavour. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
