Great stuff! And a really sweet inside move there at the end, too. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Nice crew work too...

I would be up for downloading a larger high-res version if you've got it!

cool video, is it an optical illusion, or is that bow flexing Ala Team Phillips?

???? Which part of the video. May have been the camera shake on the brakets.

I have a higher res 112mb video version also on my pc. Will look at downloading it onto my web and give you a yell when it is done. I am on dial up so it will take a very long time.

the very first part of the video looks like the starboard bow is flexing. It may be the boom moving causing the illusion of the bow flex, I cant tell.

Ahh yes.... I see it now.

No main tension and the boom moving up and down in the gusts.

Great video - and this question could proably go in a new thread. The tunes make the video all that much better. Anybody else try to take music on their boat. I've been messing around with small FM radios on the boat strapped to the mast, but the mast really interferes with reception. Don't want to bring $$$ technology on the boat in the event of a capsize or lots of water spray.

Anybody have a soluition?

Have thought about adding waterproof speaker to the hatch covers and using an I-Pod (boat is nearly 6 kg underweight)

However I don't think it will be a good idea as it is very important to be able to hear people calling from outside the boat.

Stereo on a catamaran - 08/26/06 03:22 PM

A personal player with ear speakers would work fine. I'm afraid that speakers on the boat would require a large amount of power in order to produce sound that can overcome the "noise" made by wind and splashing water. That power would come in the form of large heavy magnets on the speakers and, most of all a pretty heavy power supply.

I never sail without a radio/cd player on the boat. I have a Sony Sports radio that I put in a dry bag. They are about $100 and usually last for a few years. Get the clear bag so you can work the controls through it.

The golden rule on my boat is that the bag is never opened while the boat is on the water. I usually store my wallet and other valuables in the bag as well.
