southeast F20 sailors - 04/21/03 11:03 PM

I purchased a Fox last summer, raced it twice under Portsmouth ratings( very disappointing ). I want to race the boat more this year but can travel limited distance. Boat is in Myrtle Beach, SC most of the season. Where, when ? Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael Montgomery

Hi

The F-20 is an option for numerous 20 ft cats to race together evan up , think with the Tybee -Texas -one in MI in Aug ,-MI 200 -and numerous other distance races more and more sailors will understand the advantages of it and help organize events and local F-20 class ORGANIZATIONS -

Encouraging all those who race the MI 200 later this year with 20s to enter -register as F-20 CLASS entrant --each has that option . Hope more events follow--it will take time but as more see F-18s and 16s this also helps sailors understand how well F-racing can work .
There is an active group in the area -
here is a post from David L -off the old forum -
David is an excellent sailor with 2 Worrell,s and is sailing the Tybee in a week also-

Try division 9 website http://www.hobiediv9.org/ to find races. We have a pretty good Tiger fleet, about 5 to 6 Tigers showing up at most Regattas. Hope to see you at up coming Regattas. There is a P18 that comes to some of the Regattas.
David

hope that helps
wish all well in the Tybee 500 next week

Carl
