F18 NA's Unaffected by Hurricane Huberto - 09/17/07 02:20 AM

I know the media makes it sound like Galveston has been destroyed but the reality is there was very minor damage. Many of the Texas F18 teams were out practicing this weekend at East Beach and we are proud to announce the NA's are still on.

My house is 50 miles from Galveston, It did not even rain here. Galveston was on the clean side of the storm, some high water, power losses, and some minor property damage. I think most of the views on the news are from Beaumont were it actually came ashore. The weird thing about this storm is it formed 60 miles off of Galveston. This is the first time that I have ever heard of system developing from nothing to hurricane that close to us. Usually we get to watch it form, watch it take out some place in the Yucatan, and then watch it rebuild and come in the states. Oh well fingers are crossed we have a quiet year.
