Boat Cover

Looking for a good all around boat cover for our 2005 Nacra F18
Any idea's ?

Kinder covers are the best I've ever seen. Harken makes a good one, too. Both have one-design patterns for most F18s.

I purchased the Harken cover and it is top notch. They offer two different ones. One has an inner fleece type layer and the other is just sunbrella material. 550-650 in price depending on material. Sorry I am not familiar with Kinder Covers so I can't give you an honest comparison.

For the Harken ones: If you with the fleece lined one then be aware that it picks up leaves, dirt, etc v easily... basically anything that gets remotely close to it will stick to it like velcro.... great product but kind of annoying to deal with that aspect.

Also, if you leave your boat with the rig up and the covers on, the draining system for when it rains doesn't work that well leaving water pooling in the boat cover....

I was also warned about the velcro effect. Being that I just got them and only been to the lake once I don't see it fair to comment on how big of a problem it is. I will say that when we removed and installed them my crew and I did it as a team to ensure they wouldn't touch the ground. I don't leave my boat rigged up so I don't know about the water collection issue but mine has two large mesh panels on the bottom for drainage, but I could see where there could be a pocket of water depending on the angle the boat is stored at.

Does anyone have a picture of the Harken covers? Where can they be bought in Europe (tried their website it is a mess). Does anyone have a fair opinion on if the Harken covers are better or not than the Nacra Infusion std ones?

See above. Harken are pretty good but i would not get the fleece lined ones unless you don't live anywhere near dirt, trees, pine cones, etc.... Call Mary at Harken Canvas.

Think about how you will use your covers:
- Travel Only
- Storage with the Mast up (then you got to think about where drainage holes are located) and a canvas cover for the tramp.

Wow this turned out to be difficult... The Harken cover is not for sale here so I have to import myself or buy the standard Nacra cover (which last time I saw it was really poor fitting). Before importing a Harken cover I would like to see at least ONE picture (no one can be found on their site or elsewhere please help!) and also I would like to know if the bottom cover comes with or is optional.

Obviously I will opt for the one without fleece.

Here's mine. I've been very happy with them. I've had the fleece lined and those without the fleece, I prefer without and my next set will not be lined.

Problem is I assumed it was (or that there was an alternative for) a beachcover (i.e. inclusive tramp cover).

For God's sake we can fly to the moon but it seems to be absolutely impossible to get a beach cover for an Infusion (if not the standard ones with poor fitting). Perhaps I should just order the C2 cover and hope it fits reasonably well. Thoughts?

Kinder makes a great beach/yard cover for the Infusion. I have had one for a couple years, fits like a glove! Not cheap though. Check Murrays for pricing.

Kinder makes a decent beach/yard cover that is one piece and easy to get on and off with the mast up. It's not super snug but you don't need it to be if it's just going to stay in the yard with the mast up. The Harken travel cover is fitted because when you're blazing down the highway you don't want your cover betting up your boat. If I kept my boat mast up in a boat yard I would definitly get a Kinder yard cover, the Harken travel cover is a pain to get on and off.

I have both the Kinder yard cover and the Harken travel covers. The yard cover is a a great fit and very high quality build. It cam with the boat so I don't what the cost was. The Harken travel is very nice and I would buy again, but I think if/when I buy again I will go for the one that does not have the soft liner. We can get it on and off with out a problem but it collects crap from trees in the driveway. My current defense is to use the Kinder cover on top of the Harken cover in the driveway. What I love about the Harken covers is the protection they provide on the highway. If I was not looking for that I would have gone with the Kinder yard cover only. Another thought if you want the utility of both with out the money would be to have a tramp cover made that you can pull off for travel.

At the end of the day it turned out Harken has one non-transport cover as well. I will order this. Picture attached. Cheers/ Jonas
