Response to question about charter boats available:
As of right now there is 1 Hobie Tiger, 1 Nacra F18, AHPC C2s, and possibly a Hobie Wildcat, I am still trying to find Infusions.
Please email me directly if you are interested in a charter.

Any place to park a motorhome at the race site, or close by?

No on site RV parking at HYC. We may be able to find a space a few hundred yards down the road but it does not have power.
I will keep looking.
The closest RV full facility camping I know of is:
Bass River Trailer Park, Inc.
698 Willow Street, Yarmouth, MA

Depends on who your friends are. With the crowd you run with, Tom you might be a little thirsty.

What about the Canadian teams, if we are current in our CANF18 association is that enough?

Thanks,

Nate

Yes - membership in your national F18 authority has always been accepted. Make sure that Max forwards a complete list of membership to Dave Ingram, or to the team in charge of registration in Hyannis.

Just over a week to go!! We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
We wish everyone who is driving long distances a safe drive and thank you for putting in the effort to drive here!
A few driving tips for Cape Cod...
1)Between local drivers and tourists, expect the unexpected from the drivers!
2)You will have to navigate a rotary or two in the last half hour of your drive. The entrances are yields, no stop signs or light. This can get a bit hairy.
3)The bridges onto the Cape have very narrow lanes with traffic or a high and sharp cement curb on each side. My usual approach is to take up both lanes and not let anyone pass me until off the bridge.
4)If your coming on Friday come early or late... most of the day there will be lots of traffic coming onto the Cape. Saturday is very hit or miss but mid morning is the worst. At the end of the event traffic should be fine on Saturday but will be hit or miss on Sunday afternoon.

Re: Official F18 NA's Q&A thread - 09/12/11 09:48 PM

Just went sailing out of Hyannis this past weekend. 15-18 knots on Saturday and 12-15 on Sunday... beautiful sailing conditions!
However, just an FYI.. the water is colder than it should be this time of year becaue of Irene. Water temps are in the high 60's to around 70 even. Normally they should be upper 70's.
It was in the mid 60's sailing this past weekend and mid 70's today so it could be anywhere temperature wise.
Bring your warm gear just incase! And shameless plug, I will have Zhik, Ronstan, Gill and etc on site incase you don't own any warm gear.

4 days until racing starts! The Red Gear Racing trailer showed up yesterday and the Nacra container showed up early this morning.
It was a little chilly this morning but it's warming up and it's blowing 15 gusts to the mid 20's. Let's hope it keeps up til next week!
