The powers(HOBIE) that be have let it be known that the Hobie MidWinters @ OSYC April 4th-6th 2014, will be an open event for the F18 class. We had a great event last year, not as many F18's boats as we would have liked.......when I ask why, here, seem to be a consensus that we did not do a good job getting the word out. SO THE WORD IS OUT, AND LOOKING FOR PARTICIPANTS !!!! Winds usually are 10-15, water starting to warm back up!! Notice to come soon, and preregistration to follow. Come on down, enjoy the Miss. Sound !!!

Gulf Hills Hotel only has 9 rooms left. They have offered us a great rate of $79.99 a night, which includes a continental breakfast. A quiet property, on a golf course, close to the venue. First come, first served….ask for the Hobie MidWinter rate.

Sounds like a cool event, I drove along there for work last year and would love to sail there.
Any one need a skipper? I couldn't bring mine and I'm not much of a crew. I could probably work this into a work trip.

Hey Kenny... Thanks for the offer, hard to refuse! I'm interested for sure but not 100% sure if I can make it at this point. I travel a lot this time of year and my schedule is not quite firm for April yet. I will have a better idea next week when I find out how many more trips I have to make out to CA this spring (already on two).
Don't risk loosing other opportunities if something comes up but let's keep in touch. Sound good?

This regatta unfortunately conflicts with the Sarasota Sailfest Regatta, April 5-6, which typically has a good F16 and F18 turnout. I won't be able to sail this regatta this year.
