Hope some of the south Florida Hobie sailors can make it!

How about a "North-South" Challenge?

Matt,

Sailing 16 or Tiger?

A few Div. 14 folks are planning on sailing 20's. Any significant number of local 20's racing?

We're trying to decide between the 16 or 20 (we can race the 20's all summer at home), like those big fleets. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I don't know which boat yet - depends on the crew - that I haven't started working on yet.

If I can't find a crew, I'll bring the 14.

I may even end up on RC.

Decisions, Decisions! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

We're thinking about going. Anyone know if there any big trailers going down?

Kenny Hilk's going, so you guys might be able to double stack.

There *might* be a triple going from Syracuse, but that's totally rumor at this point.

I'm still working on a crew.

So who chose this venue in the middle of spring break month? I hope they realized Panama City is one of the college spring break locations in the U.S.
You guys might be finding some suprises like some pretty baloons on your boat in the mornings. Hobie tramps are awfully comfortable.
I might have to go and stay for the week for the rest of the week.
Matt if we wouldn't be such a heavy team I might be interested. I'm 165-170.

ah, spring break. We're trying to get a group together to make it from D7. Any Idea on the fleet size for the 14's? Tough for me to talk crew into sitting in a truck for 23 hours one way, even if there is warm sun, cold beer, and unfamilar women available.

Karl, I suppose that depends on how many people will fit in your truck and how many 14's you can stack <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Makes me think we should throw the 14 on our 16 and bring #1 along to crew with mom on the 16.

From what I understand there's a difference between Panama City and Panama City Beach. The party is out west, at the beach.

We're reading some camping may be available right at the yacht club?

The venue is well inside the bay - far away from the spring-breakers <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />. It's at a "real" yacht club, too - when I got there early Thursday afternoon last year, they were in the midst of their "Ladies Luncheon", and the clubhouse was off-limits until they were gone.

Here's a view of the front lawn from the dock (there's more space for boats elsewhere):

And here's a view of the "camping area" (again, there's a lot more space than what appears in the picture):

Camping is in the boat parking area across the parking lot from the clubhouse. Very convenient, but quite, er . . lumpy - bring your inflatable mattress and make sure you get all the pine cones out from under the tent. There are bathrooms and showers within stumbling distance of your tent.

Matt ~ Happy Holidays, sir <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Will be making it to Tradewinds in January...did not think that was going to be in the cards for me. Will be on the 16 w/Kenny. Not doing Mid-Winters. Believe Ken will sail with Erin.

So...Who's gonna break a rib for you this year? hahahahaha

The H16 fleet will probably be the biggest, usually is. not many 20's in the area, 3 I think, only 1 active sailor. H14's could be big with Curry just to our west, Bob you out there? Spring break will not be a factor. The venue is on the other side of town from the hoopla. However it is a great time to go bar hoping at night. I'm not directly involved with the organization of the event this year but if anyone has any questions I will try and get them figure it out for you!

I'm hoping to pull 4-6 boats down on a six place snowmobile trailer. Some people want to fly and thats fine, but my pickup only holds 3 comfortably. I've got a 24' enclosed car trailer that I think we can fit about ten disassembled 14's in (if the frame is knocked loose from the hulls), that we are going to hopefully get a group together for the 14 nationals in N.Y. I'd rather sail my 16 if at all possible for MWE

Hey Brad,

Looks like six 20's are coming from Div 14, probably more as the conversation started just today.

Can you get the word out to local 20's for us?

Thanks

Any read on the number of Tigers going?

I'll bring mine if there are at least a couple others.

Otherwise, I'm on the 16 - but I need a 100lb crew.

Lots of 16 competition - Mark Modderman (2006 NA Points Champ), Kenny Hilk, Paul Hess (2000 NA Champion), Billy Jeffers are all going for sure.
