hobie bob

I dont know if this was covered, i searched but couldn't find anything though. I think i remember reading that people use something like a soda bottle instead of a hobie bob. Does that work? What are other solutions?

I don't think a soda bottle would have enough flotation. Too flimsy too. Maybe a big anti-freeze or laundry detergent jug. You could run your main halyard through the handle and just swim it up to the top of the mast after capsizing.
