Wear on Boat from Extensive Use

Wear on Boat from Extensive Use - 10/30/05 05:59 AM

After pulling my boat, I've done an end of season inspection. Everything on my poor boat is worn, and I mean everything! -But this suprised me:
The side rails and the corner castings that receive the side rails are wearing significantly. You can see the obvious metal loss. I guess 29 years of tacking takes its toll. It still amazes me that microscopic wear adds up like that. (Then it makes a person wonder what time and constant movement are doing to your own body.)

being a climber I try not to think what torture I am puting on my body, you just gotta accept the damage and deal with it later... whats the point of having a low mileage body when youre told old to use it anymore?

One old line, "I would rather wearout, than rust out!"

I'm afraid I am well on my way to some of both! TnT
