what about 4 meter,5meter,6meter classes with a 25 foot mast height on 4 meters and down and 25 and up on 5 meters and up.All sails that you can come up with allowed.sorta like bracket racing only for sailboats. If one boat starts running away with it,then decide what to do

I've thought along those lines as well, and the only problem is the very small number of 4 meter boats available (other than the Wave), especially here in the US.

I was thinking that 4 mtr would contain all up to 5.0,5.0 would contain all up to 6 mtr,etc..
maybe 2 catagories in each group(board boats and skeg boats)Would probably still need PN numbers but boats would be grouped closer together. Maybe this would be a good way to run an open x class for tighter competition
Can you tell I'm new to this I'm just bummin cause I bought the wrong boat for this new class.Tell ya what lets have a bunch of classes...f14,f15,f16,f17,f18,f19,f20
..seriously the f14 class sounds great.

I think that's a very neat way to differentiate between classes. You must remember, though, that each meter is 3'3", and that is a very big difference in boat size when racing.

Per your rules I could race a Blade in the 'board class' and a Quattro in the 'skeg class'. That would be fun

I'm not sure about this assumption that someone will show up with a rocketship and kill the class. That makes about as much sense as saying Randy and Bob are bad for sailing, because they make everyone race for second place. You try and beat the person ahead of you. The only person you can't overtake is the guy in last place, regardless of boat.
