07/08Top Gun regatta

28/29 of october kurnell cc are running their Top Gun regatta.
Also on this week end the nsw mossie state titles are being run.
Com down and have some fun, chat and a few drinks after sailing.
NOR to come as the event gets closer.

I am trying to make a decision about dragging my boat back with me from SA for the NSW States.

Question, do we have any idea as to how many are intending on coming up....or over ...or even attending.

Also still looking for a crew for that weekend if I do have my boat....lightweight, would be prefereable ....if you know anyone free....one of the Vics young'uns?????

As well as the top gun it would be great for you to come down to pbsc and race.
The tipans are haveing there states at the top gun so it would be great to show that the class is not DEAD!!!In NSW.

Happy to bring it back but still not much point without a crew....etc etc .

If I do, other than the NSW titles I will probably sail from Speers Point on Lake Macquarie as I am still supposed to be studying....but all work an no play...

Why not just sail it cat rig?

Guess I could but basically i do not enjoy sailing it cat rigged.....been spoilt maybe sailing the A....but Sloop is my preference.

Will make a decision as I go....

Hi all,
NSW states are only just over a month away <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.
Nor http://www.kcc.asn.au/
At the moment it looks like we may only get 4 cat rig boats
The tiapans are holding there states at the same event.
It would be great to see a good fleet of mozzie's.

NOR is up for the state titles.
Please note that all mossies will also be competing in the top gun regatta as well (2 regattas for the price of 1).
Considering how well Jive went on its first race with a none mossie sailor on board and how well Ben on Top Gun has also been going, I think the mossies might give the top gun regatta a shake up as well. So People dont hesitate to come down and have a go.

Any ideas for accommodation? What little there is seems pretty expensive.

Emailed the commodore of KCC and he said the only motels are around cronulla way.
The best way of finding a motel/camp site will probably be through whereis.com.

Any locals know of anywhere else reasonably cheap accomodation, Gary was looking for a camping site last time I was talking to him and so was a T4.9 sailor as well.

I've booked a cabin at the Watersedge Resort next door to the club.

They have a queen and a pull-out bed in the cabin for $120 a night. 02 9668 8777 is the number.

1 less mossie at the states, 1 sailor pulled the plug.

Steve (tornato alive) was going to sail jive (smik) but unfortunatly got other commitments. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Hi Ben,

current plans are that Peter, Tim and I will arrive Friday night. I could get there earlier if there was a good reason as we will be in 2 vehicles, can't triple deck DAMN IT, but Peter has to get back from Melbourne before he can head for Kurnell.

Don't tell me Steve is going to find a way to avoid getting a thrashing from me again <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />. The main reason I was coming was to give him a whipping again <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />.

I will probably drop down for the saturday to watch the racing...in the end chose to leave the boat home, here until the end of November and with exams etc did not see it was going to get much use.
The next few months are going to be hectic as it is, but will be at Warrnambool one way or another....

I'll be going to Hurnell tommorrow for a test run hopefully after lunch and Ben will be arriving sometime after. Will whats your plans?

Hoping to be a kurnell by lunch so I can fix my down haul and righting systems, Then go out and test and tune the rudders I guess.
