It takes a lot to get my back up, but a phone call last weekend did just that.
When it was being discussed to hold the next Mozzie Nationals at Mannering Park, Christine started to do her homework as to where to stay for the championships. Unlike many families, we are not camping minded, so were looking for a place to rent, preferably within walking distance. She found a couple, and after further due diligence, and confirmation with the Estate agent, we paid the required $750 deposit. This was way back beginning of March.
The phone call last weekend was to inform us that the owner of the house decided only now to not let it out. Even though they were informed that it was booked, apparently the comment was like - "it's unavoidable". Consequently, the Lake Bonney contingent is now somewhere near a half-hour drive away. It would seem that deposits these days mean not much at all, other than lining others' pockets.
I hope no one else has any problems! The Barmera Boys and Girls look forward to seeing you all up there.
