Main traveller track - 10/27/09 11:36 PM

I've heard that the Australian brand Windslyce is a good choice for Mosquitoes, but when I looked at their website I was blown away to find actual Mosquito parts listed.

Windslyce price list page

Can someone who has used the Windslyce stuff tell us which traveller car and what type of track they bought?

Tim,

Peter and I have now had Windslyceon on 3 boats, including our present boats.

I am more than happy with it and best part being an Australian company and Aussie made.

We have used both the composite and normal traveller cars, Peter did have a problem with a car at Wallaroo and all was repalced at no cost..... amazing in this day and age.

I will get the details of the track and car we use and send it to you over next couple of days...

Hi Tim,

just have a look at my boat on Sunday, you should get a good view of the rear beam. smirk Sorry saw the opening and took it as usual. blush

No, sorry, couldn't see the rear beam confused
I certainly got a good look at Mitch's rear beam though - nearly 2 hours of staring at the thing mad

Yours must have been either too far ahead or camouflaged wink

Next time I will get a photo of the car you have on your track.

You can get the car without the cleat.

Here is a pic. The cleat that came with the car is junk but Harken and Ronstan cleats fit. I found the balls the car runs on tend to chip every now and then, wasn't enough to jam the car but could hear the "clicking" as the car moves around. Replacement balls were 80 cents and I made a ball loader out of a bit of track. 5 minute job to replace a damaged ball with the loader, much longer without it but it can be done.

Are you still looking for the part number of the track?

I have a Harken car on Bullet, doesn't run as smoothly as the windslyce car I had on Top Gun. I now use a ronstan swivel cleat on the center beam instead of having the cleat on the car.
