State Titles ~Portarlington 2014~

A huge thank-you to the Portarlington Club from me personly, I was made to feel right at home from the instant I walked through the gate, both the shore members and rescue guys were more then willing to go that extra bit
A job well done

Unfortunately life doesn't always go as planned so sadly I didn't get to sail in the states as I'd hoped, with kids in tow I did sail @ Warrnambool in the afternoon in 15-17knot winds gusting up to 20knots frequently, this was fun but the 2.5metre swell sapped most of my strength on the day leaveing me asleep in the comfy chair when I got home.... Saturday morning I was well n truly battered n bruised, so with my aches n pains I made the trip armed with the camera..... 495 photos later I'll shut up and start uploading.....

NB:
there was an infringement at the start, so I haven't posted the photos at the gun so there's no fuss made about who did what.... and the committee's decision of an infringement occourance and penality stands as is decided by them....




please take into accord the fact that I was NOT in the dead line for the photo as to who may or may not have jumped the line....

This 2nd or 4th attempt to right the boat failed simply because of the mast being full of water !!!
The camera was put aside and I went over the side to assist, even 2 of us hanging off the ropes it seemed to take ages to bring her up, what was worse is that she'd gone over right on a mark so other boats that were still racing were trying to get past as best as they could.

Credit where credit is due..... our skipper didn't head back to the beach battered n bruised.... she went onto the next race and ran well

although not visible in this pic, the port trap wire had broken away from the shock-cord. The trap wire had also hooked over the 3rd batten down from the top leaving our skipper with no choice but to DNF for this race.

At the finishing line, end of Saturday's 2nd race...

I think there's a picture of every competitor in that lot, I'm really sorry if I missed anyone and if the pics aren't as you'd want, but I was largely at the mercy of the boat driver and that unforgiving costal chop.....

I also apologise for the number of pages of pics ....

Be thankfull I was only there for 2 races
