You don't do it through this forum, silly. You do it by joining CABB and going to all the events.
Then you volunteer to replace John Mcknight as commodore, and you take over the job of sending out e-mails to remind people about events coming up and you do the E-newsletter with stories about past events. Oh, yes, and you have to plan the fleet events for the whole year well in advance to make sure they don't conflict with other events.
And you volunteer to bring the barbecue grill and the food and drinks for after the races.
And when you get in off the water, you pass out the drinks and fire up the grill and cook the food.
You conduct the race committee meeting before the races and you hand out the trophies after the races.
And the homemade trophies? You are going to stay up all night the night before the races making the trophies, because nobody else is going to do it.
Well, maybe you could start by just doing food and trophies, and let John still be commodore. Right now nobody does food and trophies, as far as I know. But it would be nice.
I'm not one to talk, because I haven't even been to a CABB event in a long, long time.
If we could just find one person who was willing to stay on the beach and have an after-race feast awaiting the sailors, and hot drinks when it is cold or cold drinks when it is hot, it might do wonders to get more people to come to the fleet events.
Know anybody?
