Has anyone heard of this boat before? This design interests me, although inside is difficult to make out in layout. I'd like to know more about it. I've been searching for a small trailerable cruiser cat or tri with more of a saloon area, but it seems anything trailerable is lacking that kind of space. http://www.marinasia.com/meonam.html

That thing will have waves constantly slaming the underside of the bridge-deck, right where the craft is slpit by the seam and at it's weakest. If you sail in flat water it may be a decent boat. The asymetrical hull shape is at it's best when the windward hull is in the air, or at least just the keel is skimming the water. Going to weather while flying a hull would seem to be asking a lot of this boat and it's intended market. Daggerboards or LAR Keels would seem a more appropriate solution.

I see this as a a low performance, minimal comfort boat that needs boards.

But I'm no expert

Interesting opinion. I see a few of those same issues myself, and I openly admit I know very little about boat design. I've read a few articles on catamaran design and the certain principles neccessary for a good all-round cruiser/performer cat. This boat seems to follow some and ignore others, but there must be some rationale for its design. It doesn't seem like it would be a fast boat, and some modifications could be made to improve the accomodations, but I emailed the ppl at the site and asked for some more info on that boat. I believe it holds some potential, in theory, as a shallow water cruiser, but I would like more feedback. Any boat designers out there?

I bought a Wharram design Tiki 21 and I'm very well pleased with the overall performance.
