I'm trying to decide whether to get a single axle or a dual axle trailer. I am buying a Corsair Sprint 750. It weighs 1600 lbs. I will pull it with a Nissan Pathfinder (4500 lb. towing capacity). Any thoughts on the advantages and disadvantages of single vs dual axle trailers?

At 1600#s I would go with a dual axle. Weight placement is a bit more forgiving and I find they track better. Backing up is easier with a dual axle also (at least I find...). Down side, you need 4 tires instead of 2 but tires are cheap compared to the boat itself. You can use the other tire/wheel to pick up the trailer to change a tire but using a small block and back or pull onto it. It will lift the other wheel off the ground.

If it matters, I believe the standard trailer from Corsair for the 24 mkII is single-axled (from Pacific). The Sprint 750 is a lighter boat, I would suspect that the single-axle would suffice.
