I've been using very little. Now it appears I'll often have crew.
How much rake do you guys use on a sloop rigged boat.
Depends on wind strength and crew weight. Conventional wisdom is to rake more in higher winds and lighter crew. Conversely, rake less in light winds and/or heavier crew.
Just a rule of thumb and really it is up to the skipper to tryout the different settings. I try to adjust according to helm feel...just a tiny bit of weather helm unless it is blowing like stink.

Pete,
If you had a comfortable setting for the single handling, start from that one for double, especially in heavier wind. When it is light you can move the mast forward about 7 cm using the trap wire method.
If in heavier wind you feel you are missing too much power you can start moving it forward a bit too, but mind it will affect your pointing ability too some extend when overdoing this and might give you too much power on the downwind.
