No Fleet of F16s at Tradewinds. Why?

No Fleet of F16s at Tradewinds. Why? - 01/20/03 07:06 PM

There were only two boats registered as F16s at the Tradewinds. Yet, the F18s were there in force.
Seems to me if you want to develop a class you have to show up at regattas, especiallly major ones like the Tradewinds.
Just talking about a class does not make it grow -- you must participate.

Mark,
He was referring to the F-18HT class, not F-18. It is hard to keep track of all these different formula names. It's too bad there weren't any Hobie Tigers here to make an F-18 class possible. But the Tigers are all up in the snow belt, and they would have had a tough time digging out to get here. The F-16's, on the other hand, are mostly down here in Florida, which is why Rick was wondering why they weren't here to promote their class.

Also attempting to organize a 200 mile 4 day Worrell type distance race up the coast of lk MI starting monday right after . --details and info BY MARCH .
aLL FORMULA CLASSES WELCOME --especially 16s -
may be the first N A F20 event .

CRAM will have a mixed fleet of F-18S --Tiger-s and 6 N-F-18s , this season --more interest gaining ,--some switching from the I-20 s
--Maybe that will wake them up to Formula --
very patient -

There is a nice turnout of Inter 20s and a number of others at all events ,--I-20 is a formula 20 in other parts of the world ,--and eventually here . It will be great to integrate equal rated boats into a large F-20 class.

Humble beginning that build each succesive year ,spreading internationally per knowledable active catsailors

watch out though ,--their are those that will continueously TRY TO pronounce them dead before they have a chance to start --

-Would appreciate any input on the proposed T I P rating system --
spin rated aspect --how this effects any aspect of F-16

windspeed -2 categories -trap -nontrap

or added P-rating H A F portion

Realize it should be compared to the lower mid windspeed P-rating list ,--is there a slicker way mathematically to annalyze and compare and integrate these rating systems -

The target Tex rating and conversion comparison percentage to older design aspect of the proposed rating .

Know this will really help the sport long-term .
