Bring her down to Daytona the following weekend for the Hobie Midwinters.

Actually, if she is any good at all, she should sail in the handicap division at Spring Fever. The Wave has a killer rating and she might do pretty well.

Where are you located? I would be interested if there were a class of Waves.

Hey Reggie...you need a vacation. Why don't you come to Daytona the following weekend?

What is the regatta in Daytona?

Hobie Midwinters .....I pretty sure you'll need A Hobie made sail for this regatta. The host hotel is Perry's Oceanside and we race in the front, off the beach.

The traveler is not allowed in either group for racing as far as I know. Maybe Jack will know the PHRF.

No travelers but you can just tie it in the center. You will need a Hobie made sail.

PHRF has nothing to do with small boats.

I posted this on another thread, but the compulsion to have a hiking stick is quite unnecessary. Expensive and just gets in your way.
If you feel the need to get forward, take a 1/4" piece of line, tie each end to the end of each tiller arm and have the loop laying forward on the deck.., to get fancy, you could even run it through a bungee loop to keep it forward.
When you feel the need to get forward, it is easy to simply steer with the line. I was able to get up on the bow spreader and easily steer with this system.
Rather sell you a stick on www.OnLineMarineStore.com, but this is a better option.

Here is some pics of my Tiller extension...I made it from Carbon fiber tubing from Rockwest composites...58.00 bucks....I mounted it on top of tiller crossbar, but the hinge would rub on the foot of the mainsail sometimes, so I drilled another hole to mount it facing forward, I can go either way and haven't tried it like this yet, but don't see any problems.

Necessary or unnecessary, I have talked to a bunch of people that are happy about it because they are used to sailing that way (with a tiller stick) after coming off a Hobie 14 and 16. The steering with the foot thing or rope thing is unnatural to some of the newbies.
