Will, regarding Bora's traveler, in the images found in the world sailing accident write up there is quite clearly a 2:1 purchase shown. Otherwise why would there be two lines on each side of the traveler instead of the standard single traveler line with a Y attached to the rear beam? I also read through the class rules; there is nothing specific related to the traveler system, and the following rules would appear to apply (no new function added, just purchase to an existing function)

(iv) ropes of any length and diameter may be added as long as it does not create a new function to the boat
(v) plastic balls
(vi) blocks with a maximum sheave diameter of 20mm may be added provided it does not create a new function.

Rules: http://www.sailing.org/tools/documents/N17F2017CRC201217-[23456].pdf

I could of course be completely wrong and the N17 rules are quite limiting, but I do believe Bora's boat passed inspection for this event.

It would be fantastic if Harken would actually sell the ceramic blocks in the more standard 10:1 setup, as based on your experience, 12:1 is overkill with these blocks for non-foiling situations. It appears a 4 sheave version was made available to Tymek for his A-Cat: http://www.a-cat.org/sites/default/files/21273045_1179570335520824_6052927766471628647_o.jpg
