CRAC, Fleet 54, Hobie Division 11, and the CBYRA JR Racing program has developed the first cat racing program for junior sailors on the Chesapeake Bay this season.

CBYRA Junior Opti, Laser and 420 sailors will be able to borrow a boat for two weekend regattas for racing with the Division 11 Junior fleet. We will be able to provide insurance for Hobie 16’s that we borrow from individuals and LOAN to qualified CBYRA Junior Sailors at Fleet 54’s 34th Gunpowder Regatta in May and at a NEW Junior only event at Miles River Yacht Club in St Michaels through US Sailing’s borrowed boat policy.

We will be offering demo rides on a wide variety of cats at the Junior Olympics on Gibson Island, and after the Rock Hall and Corsica River regattas.

CBYRA will pay for the entry of ANY CBYRA Junior Sailor who applies for and attends the US Sailing Junior Catamaran Championship in Miami Florida. The winner will represent the USA in the ISAF World Championships in 2007.

The Hobie 16 Youth Championships will follow a week later at Sandy Hook, NJ.

The web page now has a section for the junior sailing program with the flyer that will appear in the CBYRA Redbook Junior booklet sent to all of the Bay’s junior sailors.
